Official: I have taste

Searching on a whim for photos of old gadgets and suchlike to get ideas for a logo for this page, I found myself hunting for stuff about the Angel Note, a pre-Internet (well, 1990) NTT phone directory lookup terminal. I bought one for about 1,500 yen a couple of years ago because it was cool (works, too) only to meet with the inevitable spousal scorn and exhortations to throw it out. Now, however, I find one on sale in a cool Shibuya interior shop for 20,000 yen. Turns out that it was designed by Ettore Sottsass, an Italian design god who I admit I had not heard of until about twenty minutes ago, and is in fact, in the eyes of at least part of the world, cool. I feel vindicated.
